About Us

SS Simon and Jude CE Primary School is situated in Great Lever, Bolton. We have approximately 600 children at our school. We deliver the International Primary Curriculum.

We are a convertor academy, opening in November 2012 as a founder school of the SS Simon & Jude Academy Trust T/A Vantage Academy Trust. We are proud to have several Specialist Leaders of Education among our staff.

SS Simon and Jude is at the heart of our local community. We provide facilities for SS Simon and Jude Church, Amateur Dramatic Society, Rainbows and Brownies groups as well as hire for other community groups.

Please take some time to look around our website. We hope this gives you an insight into the ethos and education at SS Simon and Jude.

Our Vision

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

We believe there is a very simple, yet highly effective formula to providing our pupils with an excellent education – children need a happy school atmosphere, limited class sizes and to have high expectations of themselves.

We have a wonderful team of teachers and assistants at SS Simon and Jude who are dedicated to helping pupils achieve their full potential. We use traditional teaching methods with a strong emphasis on a broad and balanced curriculum. There is a lovely community spirit at our school. Mutual respect, good behaviour and courtesy are at the heart of our school ethos. Every pupil is treated as an individual to ensure we nurture their abilities and meet their needs. Pupils work to a curriculum that is tailored to their specific needs so they achieve their full potential.

As a trust, we are deeply committed to improving outcomes for all children and supporting schools with a history of underperformance to become both inspirational and safe places in which to learn. We do this by investing in and developing exceptional teachers, leaders and support staff; building strong relationships with parents and our local communities; providing inspirational learning environments; and demonstrating high expectations for every school and every child across the trust.
